About True Vine

Pastor Jimmy Patterson is the youngest of the late Mr. & Mrs. John Patterson, born in Eastover, South Carolina. He attended school in Richland County and graduated from Webber High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from South Carolina State University and his Master of Art from Clemson University. We are proud to say that learning takes place at all ages. On June 15, 2024, Pastor Patterson received a Doctorate Degree of Christian Leadership and became a Certified Christian Life Coach. Praise God. 

Pastor Patterson retired as an educator in the year of 2000 from the public-school system of South Carolina. After retirement from teaching, he became an Adjunct Professor in the Science and Engineering Department at South Carolina State University.

Pastor Jimmy Patterson served in the Army Reserve for 20 years and in 1995, he retired from the USARF with the rank of Master Sergeant.

In 1975, he met and married Vera White, and to this union two daughters were born. On May 6, 1997, a shocking tragedy occurred. Mr. Patterson suffered the great loss of his best friend and dear wife, Vera L. Patterson. After almost seven years, Elder Patterson met and married Barbara Langley on December 27, 2003. To this new union they now have six children and fourteen grandchildren. Pastor & Co- Patterson were led by God to establish the Agape Blended Family Support Group. Sessions are held every month as couples share their experiences as a blended family. Elder Patterson also travels extensively with his wife, Barbara, as a facilitator and presenter at marriage retreats all over the country.

Pastor Patterson is an anointed preacher, teacher, and singer. He is an
entrepreneur owning and operating several businesses. He presentl serves as the founder and Senior Pastor of True Vine Temple in Orangeburg, South Carolina. His motto is – “It’s nice to be nice.
